Dan Wheldon

Today is a sad day in the racing world. The passing of Dan Wheldon is a sad reminder of how human we all can be. I had an opportunity to meet Dan this year at the Brickyard 400; he was a very gracious person. He signed autographs and took pictures with anyone that asked. It brings me back to when Dale Earnhardt Sr. passed away in a race and the measures that were taken to improve safety after it happened. I heard during the race broadcast the announcers mentioned Dan had been testing the car for 2012. It was mentioned that the car has improved safety features to protect the driver. I think people forget sometimes that no matter what you do, how much money you have or any amount of fame that you have, you are still just a person with people who love you and care for you. I pray for Dan's family and friends. Godspeed Dan Wheldon.
